Display issues when overlapping years

The logic that determines date presentation fails when the months and days are the same, but the year is differrent. Rather than showing the starting and ending year, the dates are shown as if only one year is covered: May 31-May 31, 2008 (https://ethitter-com.network.erick.me/wp-admin/post.php?post=3833&action=edit).
