<p class="">Hi!</p>
I regularly got this error message on several sites where I Use WP Revisions Control plugin:
The “wp–revisions–control” plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.
It occurs for both custom post types, Learndash courses and basic pages.
Do you have any recommendations about solving this issue?
Thank you for your help in advance!

<p>Does this plugin just configure the same revision limit that can be configured from wp-config.php? Also, does this use the same wp_post table and revision post type value? </p>
The reason why I ask is because WP Engine has the revisions limit set to 5 and they also delete any revision older than 60 days so I’m looking for a plugin that is separate from the OOTB WordPress revisions implementation to circumvent WP Engine’s optimization, while providing the same revision restore functionality.
If not, do you know of any other plugin that does this?
This plugin works within the controls that WordPress provides. It does not create its own tables. It does provide greater control than the WP_POST_REVISIONS
constant supports.
I can't fully answer your query because I'm not familiar with how WP Engine has implemented their modifications. In particular, the 60-day expiry must be a solution they've created on their own as WordPress does not natively expire revisions older than a certain age. This plugin won't have any effect on WP Engine's time-based cleanup.
Assuming that WP Engine implemented their 5-revision limit using either the WP_POST_REVISIONS
constant or the wp_revisions_to_keep
filter provided by WordPress, then this plugin should allow you to increase the limit. It may be necessary to add code to your theme (or to a custom plugin) to adjust the priority at which this plugin overrides the number of revisions to retain, as WP Engine may have set their filter to run at a higher priority; that can be done using the wp_revisions_control_priority
filter to increase the priority from its default of 50
.

<p>Hi,</p>
I have this strange error message whenever I open up a post from a custom post type.
“Das Plugin „wp-revisions-control“ hat einen Fehler festgestellt und kann nicht gerendert werden.” which translates to “The plugin „wp-revisions-control“ has found an error and can’t be rendered”.
See the screenshot here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VTRUMtiCnETRk6Dz68s2oOzeiZeYzhyM/view?usp=sharing
I’d appreciate any help.

<p>Hello, </p>
I have already made too many changes while editing my Woocommerce products and I would need to delete the old versions of the products pages.
Will this plugin help me delete them?
Please let me know
Thank you and regards
Liliana
If the Woocommerce Products post type shows up on the Settings > Writing section in your admin, then yes, this plugin can purge those revisions. I do not use Woocommerce, so I can't provide a definitive answer.
