The nextpage tag is no longer inserted

Maybe my mistake, but seems that nextpage tag is no longer inserted.
Tested on
Wordpress 5.2.3
Php 7.3.9-1~deb10u1 and 7.0.33-0+deb9u5
Tested with many themes, also with Twenty Nineteen
wp_link_pages is present in single.php and page.php

On one site the blog was not changed, simply the pagination is disappeared, but I didn’t notice when.

No errors in nginx or php log
